The Los Angeles Rams recently added Dante Fowler to their defense, but Jadeveon Clowney and Jerry Hughes were also on their watch list. The Rams are the lone undefeated team in the NFL. Their defensive front is headlined by Aaron Donald, but also features Ndamukong Suh and Michael Brockers. With Fowler on board, the NFL's best team may get better.

“I'm ready to come in here and do what I've got to do to get us where we want to go,” Fowler told ESPN earlier this week. “[Donald is the] best defensive tackle in the league, and Ndamukong Suh is a dominant defensive tackle. Shouldn't be no reason, when I do have my one-on-ones, I've just got to make the most out of them.”

Dante Fowler has recorded two sacks this season with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The former No. 3 overall pick is in his third season, and is coming off a 2017-18 season where he recorded eight sacks. He may not have been their first option, but he'll look to prove himself as a valuable pickup.

Jadeveon Clowney is on a first place Houston Texans team, so it's unlikely that they would be willing to give him up in such a critical part of the season. Meanwhile, Jerry Hughes will remain with the subpar Buffalo Bills. Multiple Bills players were inquired about, but Buffalo was reluctant to accept deals that would bring in players with expiring contracts.

The Rams will play the New Orleans Saints in Week 9, and it'll surely be a shootout. The Rams hope their upgraded defense can heap plenty of pressure on Drew Brees.
