In an article for ESPN, a group of executives, coaches, players, and scouts voted Jalen Ramsey as the second-best cornerback in the NFL. While the Los Angeles Rams No. 1 cornerback received praise, there was also a veteran quarterback that labeled Ramsey as the “Amari Cooper of cornerbacks”.

“There are some inconsistencies you see on tape with footwork or freelancing a bit,” the quarterback said, via ESPN. “But he's too talented not to put it all together this year.”

Ramsey isn't known as a player that's quick to give praise to his opponents. However, the All-Pro cornerback had nothing but compliments for Cooper last season, calling him “one of the most underrated wide receivers in the league”.

Therefore, seeing a quarterback compare him to Cooper likely won't bother Jalen Ramsey at all. If anything, Ramsey will likely take it as a compliment as he enters his first full season with the Rams.

Besides receiving some criticism, an offensive coach in the NFL lauded the talents of Ramsey.

“He's a one-of-a-kind,” said an NFL offensive coach. “When he's cooking, he scares you on the game plan more than just about anyone. You have to find ways to throw away from or around him.”

In his first four seasons in the NFL, Ramsey has cemented himself as one of the premier cornerbacks in the league. The former first-round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars has accumulated 49 pass breakups and 10 interceptions since entering the league in 2016.

Despite his performance on the field, some fellow players don't seem to believe that Ramsey is as good as advertised. Even though he won't take the Cooper comparison as a slight, you can bet that Ramsey will have a huge chip on his shoulder in 2020.
