Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey and Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins both had numerous battles over the last few years. Before they came to their new squads, both of them competed in the AFC South division, with Ramsey playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Hopkins representing the Houston Texans.

A season later, they found themselves sharing the same division once again, this time in the NFC West. Looking back in hindsight, Ramsey recalled that he had mixed reactions when he first heard the news of the blockbuster Hopkins trade back in the recent offseason.

As per Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times, the former Florida State product “felt bad” for his friend, Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, who just lost one of the best receivers in the league after the deal went through. Nonetheless, Ramsey still accepted the challenge of competing in the same division and matching up opposite of Hopkins in more games moving forward.

“And I was just, mentally I had to get my mind right again, you know what I mean?” Rams corner Jalen Ramsey said. “Those battles are always fun, to be honest with you, whether I felt like I won or lost the matchup.”

The Rams are currently in second place in the NFC West division with a 7-4 record while the Cardinals are closely trailing behind with a 6-5 win-loss tally for the third spot. Both Ramsey and Hopkins will go head-to-head for the first time in a new division as the Cardinals host the Rams in Week 13 proceedings.
