Rams QB Jared Goff speaks out on new opportunity this week against the Bears
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff and the rest of the offense have had some troubles this season and it all came to a head in their last game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The offense was turning the ball over it seemed every possession, and that led to them only putting up 12 points total.
Defenses have schemed well against Goff and the Rams haven’t made the right adjustments to turn it around. Goff was asked about the scheme changes, and he thinks this week against the Chicago Bears brings out a new opportunity to get things turned around.
“I wouldn’t say what they did has shown up a lot,” Goff said via Pro Football Talk. “It’s something that teams have tried and we’ve beat it at times and we haven’t at times. It’s definitely part of a scheme that people have played not only to us, but across the league. Nothing too crazy, pretty simple. We’ll be ready if they do it again.”
Goff is pretty confident about going against the Bears even though on paper this is a much better defense than the Steelers. Goff will also be starting behind a makeshift offensive line this week which could prove to be troubling.
Left tackle Andrew Whitworth is the only starter that is playing in his normal position. Going against Khalil Mack and the rest of the Bears’ defensive line with all the injuries is concerning. This is a must win for the Rams if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive.
