The Los Angeles Rams face off against the Seattle Seahawks in an NFC Wild Card Game on Saturday at 1:40 p.m. PT. The big question surrounding the game is whether or not Rams starting quarterback Jared Goff will be able to suit up for the big game after the five-year veteran had surgery on his right (throwing) thumb in late December.
While Goff is actually active for the game, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Rams head coach Sean McVay has been exceedingly cagey about the two-time Pro Bowler’s status for this division rivalry playoff game. The 26-year-old Goff was seen throwing with a small bandage on his thumb during practice, including with velocity and a 60-yard bomb through the air (via Omar Ruiz of NFL Network):

Goff suffered his injury against the team that the Rams play against on Saturday: the Seahawks. Rookie quarterback John Wolford served as the team’s steward for its 18-7 win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 17, which ensured a playoff berth for the Rams.
While Wolford is fully healthy and did deliver the win the previous week, the Rams would surely feel safer with Goff leading the team’s offense, as he has proven capable of leading the team to a Super Bowl when he did in his third season of 2018. Goff has also made two Pro Bowls in his career in 2017 and 2018.
Though Goff’s raw passing numbers might seem somewhat deflated this season, he did end up with the second-highest QBR of his career per Pro Football Reference with 58.5, second only to his best season in 2018 when he secured a 63.6
