Jared Goff is entering his fourth NFL season. The turnaround that's taken place since his supremely underwhelming rookie campaign has been nothing short of astonishing, as the Los Angeles Rams quarterback has established himself as one of the NFL's premier building blocks. At just 24, Goff undoubtedly still has ample room to improve on a level of performance that's already made him a two-time Pro Bowler.

Rams coach Sean McVay seems confident his team's franchise quarterback will take another step forward in 2019. While Los Angeles has already seen Goff make strides from a physical perspective in training camp, it's his complete grasp of the Rams' playbook that McVay seems most excited about, according to Charles Robinson of Yahoo.

Goff continued staking his claim as arguably the league’s best young quarterback last season, throwing for 4,688 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions while completing 64.9 percent of his passes, all career-highs. The Rams finished second to reigning MVP Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, who boasted one of the most prolific offenses in league history, in both points and yards per game, too, running defenses roughshod courtesy of enviable talent at the skill positions as well as McVay's ballyhooed offensive scheme.

Los Angeles was shut down when it mattered most, though, managing just 260 total yards in its 13-3 loss to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LIII. Goff was certainly part of the problem, completing just half of his 38 throws en route to 229 passing yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception.

Will he fare better should the Rams have another opportunity to play for the Vince Lombardi trophy? Given McVay's appraisal of Goff's progress both physically and mentally, that seems a foregone conclusion.
