Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley is one of the best in the NFL at his position. No one's really going to deny that. However, there's been a lot of talk about whether he is the pinnacle of the running back group in the League.

This mainly stems from his injury concerns; that's the most common argument you'll hear. However, LaDainian Tomlinson doesn't need to hear any more arguments — he has his answer.

That answer is: Todd Gurley. He's still the best running back in the NFL in Tomlinson's mind.

On NFL Total Access, Tomlinson listed his top five running backs in the NFL. The list is star-studded, as you'd imagine.

At five, Tomlinson has Melvin Gordon. The Los Angeles Chargers' running back is a multi-threat back but someone who might not be with the team much longer.

Fourth was Alvin Kamara, a lethal receiving back for the New Orleans Saints who can create havoc in the open field.

Third was Ezekiel Elliot of the Dallas Cowboys, one of the best pure runners in the NFL.

Second was Saquon Barkley of the New York Giants. Barkley did everything in his rookie year, looking completely unstoppable.

Finally, LT had Todd Gurley at number one. That's telling when you see the names directly below him.

It makes sense too. In 14 games Gurley racked up 1,251 rushing yards (third in the NFL) and 17 rushing touchdowns (first in the NFL). He also managed 59 receptions for 580 yards and four receiving touchdowns, proving there's really no way to stop him.

The rumors of arthritis in his knees and the extremely limited amount of playing time he got near the end of the regular season and in the playoffs have turned many people into skeptics regarding his 2019 season and beyond. However, Tomlinson believes the offseason will be more than enough to return Gurley to 100%.

We've seen what Todd Gurley can do when he's 100%. It's hard to argue with LaDainian Tomlinson that that version of Gurley is the best running back in the NFL.
