The Los Angeles Rams have signed veteran running back C.J. Anderson, according to Myles Simmons of the Rams' official team website.

Anderson has spent time with the Carolina Panthers and the Oakland Raiders this season.

He played in nine games for the Panthers, rushing for 104 yards on 24 carries while catching a 24-yard touchdown pass. He was cut by Carolina on Nov. 18 and then signed with the Raiders on Dec. 5, but he never saw the field with Oakland and was released six days later.

Anderson, who played his collegiate football at the University of California, went undrafted but signed with the Denver Broncos as a free agent back in 2013.

He played in just five games during his rookie campaign, totaling 38 yards.

The following year, however, Anderson showed some promise, registering 849 yards and eight touchdowns while averaging 4.7 yards per carry. In addition, he hauled in 34 receptions for 324 yards and a couple of scores en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

Anderson went on to spend the first five years of his career with the Broncos, with his tenure culminating in a 1,007-yard, three-touchdown season in 2017. He averaged 4.1 yards per attempt and snared 28 balls for 224 yards and a touchdown through the air.

The Rams are coming off of a disappointing loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night and have lost back-to-back games for the first time all season. Los Angeles' vaunted offense scored just 29 points combined in those two contests.

Still, the Rams are 11-3 and will have a couple of easy games against the Arizona Cardinals and the San Francisco 49ers to close out their regular season.
