Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh doesn’t have the greatest reputation around the league. From his previous stomping incidents earlier in his career to his part in the Miami Dolphins’ supposedly bad team culture, he comes across as a guy who, from the outside looking in, is not the easiest to deal with.

But Michael Brockers begs to differ. The Rams defensive lineman says Suh is far from the person he’s been portrayed in the media. On the contrary, he’s actually a great guy who seems to have gotten off on the right foot with his new team.

“You hear all the tabloids about him, being mean, tough. [But] if you get to know him, sit down and really just get to know him as a person, everybody enjoys him,” Brockers said per Kristen Lago of the team’s official website. “He’s a smart guy, a great guy to be around, [and] a great guy to come into this building with, so it’s been awesome.”

One of the main concerns about the Rams’ incredibly busy offseason was their addition of supposedly volatile personalities like Suh and Marcus Peters into the locker room. So while Suh has seemingly been on his best behavior thus far, it should be noted that they’re still in the honeymoon phase, and things could yet change over the course of the season.

For now, though, the Rams remain a happy camp heading into a season with high expectations. And if they manage to keep everyone-especially Suh-in line, they stand a much better chance of meeting those expectations when it’s all said and done.
