Odell Beckham Jr.'s legacy should be relatively simple. He has the skill of a top-tier wide receiver but injuries and stops with inept franchises have hindered his ability to build a strong career resumé. Fortunately, he found himself with the Los Angeles Rams and is in a winning situation.
As he prepares to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in his third career playoff game, Beckham offered some introspection on his carer. He told Josina Anderson of CBS Sports and USA Today that his stint with the Rams is the beginning of a new phase of his career.
“I mean as a player, I’m still evolving. Like, to be honest with you, I feel like in the next couple of years — God willing the season plays out the way it's supposed to, you win the Super Bowl — the next couple of years for me are going to be my best years in football. Like, obliterate the New York stuff, and just like have a whole different career.
Beckham's best days came as a Giant, where he was a three-time Pro Bowler. He said that, now, he is at peace with where he is in life as a member of the Rams.
“As a man, I feel like I'm in the best place in my life — growth, experience, just all of those things have kind of taken a toll and put me in a place of just peace in my life. That's probably one of the biggest lessons that I have, just finding myself at peace. So I'm very excited with where I am at in my life, knowing that I'm still just scratching the surface.”
The Rams will have their hands full with Tom Brady and the Bucs. They could use a big-time performance from Beckham.
