Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was down bad with the Cleveland Browns, but he has found a new lease on his NFL life this season. Beckham played a key role in the Rams' 34-11 demolition of the Arizona Cardinals in the Wild Card Round, catching the first touchdown pass of his playoff career and also completing a 40-yard pass to Cam Akers.

Beckham became the first player in NFL playoff history to finish with a 30-yard reception and a 30-yard completion in the same game. He wound up catching four passes for 54 yards and that touchdown, which got the scoring started for Los Angeles.

After the game, the Rams veteran opened up on getting his first playoff touchdown and win, via ESPN's Brady Henderson:

“I feel like I've gotten to a certain age where I'm a realist and not an idealist, and I understood the situation of what I was coming into in this team and everything that they were capable of,” Beckham said. “And it just feels amazing to get that win. Get the first one off your back. Now knowing it's just time to put it together and make a run.”

The Rams wide receiver also talked about the trick play and how that played out. The play was installed in practice during the week but was difficult to execute because of the wind. Luckily for Beckham, Rams head coach Sean McVay kept the play in the game plan and made the call:

“The opportunity came up, I know I got to someone who's easily gonna catch the ball,” Beckham said. “All I got to do is put it in the vicinity [to] Cam Akers, and he made the play.”

After that throw and catch, Beckham actually had more passing yards than Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, who struggled through a nightmare of a game. Murray did wind up with more passing yards, but his playoff debut was a mess with just 137 yards and two picks.

Beckham and the Rams will now take aim at Tom Brady and the defending champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
