The Los Angeles Rams will face a familiar face in Ndamukong Suh on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Some of the players on the Rams previewed their matchup with their ex-teammate and the Buccaneers.

“He’s not like a flashy guy, but he knows how to turn it on and overpower people,” [guard Joe] Noteboom said. “That’s his game.”

“Super powerful, takes care of his body,” [left tackle Andrew] Whitworth said. “That’s kind of always been his MO — he overpowers guys a lot and has always kind of been that guy.”

“I’m sure he’ll be wanting to get after us,” quarterback Jared Goff said Wednesday.

The Rams know more than most that Suh can overpower or wreak havoc on an offense as he spent the 2018 season in Los Angeles. With the Rams, the defensive tackle totaled 59 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and 19 hits on the quarterback last year.

After helping the Rams make it to the Super Bowl in 2018, Suh has joined the Buccaneers to help them improve on defense. Through three games with Tampa Bay, the veteran defensive tackle has combined for five tackles, one tackle for loss, and a fumble recovery.

In Week 4, the Rams offensive line will be tasked with neutralizing Suh in the trenches. That is a task that is easier said than done; especially when you have two new starters in Joseph Noteboom and Brian Allen along the offensive line.

Additionally, Sean McVay wants to get Todd Gurley going on the ground. To do that, the Rams are going to need to make room for the running back by getting Suh and the other defensive linemen out of the way.
