Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay has been unconventional his entire career as a head coach, and his reaction to his team being announced as the team to be followed be HBO's Hard Knocks is no different.

Earlier Thursday HBO confirmed with ESPN that the Rams and Chargers will be the teams the series will follow for the 2020 training camp. This will be the first time in the series' 15 year history that they will follow two teams at once. This season will be an especially unique look into training camp with teams having to work around the restrictions and policies brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.

While a lot of teams and coaches have either flat out rejected or have been upset and concerned over getting picked by HBO to be covered — citing it as a distraction — fourth-year head coach McVay is excited by the opportunity.

“We're really excited about it” McVay said in an interview with Stu Jackson.

In spite of being one of the more entertaining coaches on the field in the NFL he admitted that on the coaching front, the Chargers have the advantage.

“I can promise you this: Coach Lynn is a little bit more charismatic than I am, but we’ll make this fun,” McVay said.

They certainly will make it fun, with the big storyline going into the season for both teams being the move into the newly completed SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Neither team made it to the playoffs in the 2019 campaign, so both teams are focused on improving and opening their new stadium with a bang.
