Everyone is wondering how the Los Angeles Rams will handle Todd Gurley's workload in 2019. Sean McVay says that all three running backs on their roster will be utilized in the offense this season.

When asked if all three running backs are in play, McVay responded with, “Oh yeah. Absolutely. Maybe three at a time.” For anyone who has shares of Gurley in fantasy football, this may temper expectations for you.

Earlier this offseason, Gurley was diagnosed with an “arthritic component” to his knee after having a knee injury that hindered his 2018 season. As a result, McVay and GM Les Snead both shared the same sentiment that they may need to lighten his workload moving forward.

To keep him fresh throughout the season, the team matched Malcolm Brown's offer sheet that the Detroit Lions gave him. Along with re-signing Brown, Los Angeles also traded up in this year's draft to select Darrell Henderson.

Since entering the NFL in 2015, Gurley has accumulated an average of 307 total touches per season. The Georgia product has also accounted for 6,430 yards from scrimmage and 56 total touchdowns in that span.

Considering his newfound knee issue, the Rams will likely try to spread the ball around more in their backfield. Over the past two seasons, Brown has carried it 106 times for 458 yards and a touchdown in the times that he has relieved Gurley.

As for Henderson, the rookie running back out Memphis can provide Los Angeles with plenty of big plays after averaging 8.9 yards per carry in his last two seasons in college. Gurley will still be the Rams' premier rusher but expect McVay to utilize the other running backs more often in 2019.
