Many were calling Jared Goff a bust after one season in the NFL, but head coach Sean McVay worked wonders with the new offense. Goff took a huge step forward, and he now looks like the quarterback the Los Angeles Rams thought they were getting in the draft.

McVay isn't satisfied with what Goff has shown last year and this year the expectations are higher.

“You hear us say it over and over and it gets monotonous but it certainly is the truth where we want him to be an extension of our coaching staff,” McVay said via the LA Times.

McVay liked what Goff did last year,  and this year it's about getting more consistent and making the right plays all the time.

“I thought he did a lot of good things last year,” McVay said. “I think it’s all about just consistency. We talk about it all the time. That’s the truest measurement of performance and especially at that quarterback position.”

This Rams team is built to win now, and with the moves and the money they spent on NFL free agency this year, it's clear that they are going all in for now.

That means that Goff needs to step up to the plate and be ready to go and lead the team. He is going to need to be more than a game manager this year, but he also doesn't need to be Tom Brady. If he can make the correct and smart plays this year, it could be a special year for the Rams.
