As the regular season nears its conclusion, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford believes that wide receiver Cooper Kupp deserves to be in contention for the 2021 NFL MVP award.
Kupp entered the Rams’ Week 15 home game against the Seattle Seahawks as a viable contender for the 2021 NFL Offensive Player of the Year award. He came away from the game with many backing him to be in the conversation for the league's most prestigious individual honor in the NFL MVP award, as he shined in the contest with nine receptions, 136 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.
Stafford sees Kupp should a contender for this season's NFL MVP, which he explained further during a press conference ahead of the Rams' upcoming Week 16 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.

He's a huge part of our success as a team, not only for what he does on the field, but how he thinks about the game off the field, solves problems, does all those kind of things.
“Obviously, I got no idea who deserves what award and all that kind of stuff, but I just know I'm happy to have them on my team.”
As of late, several other players have also been bolstering their resume for the NFL MVP, including Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady.
Considering that no wide receiver has ever won the NFL MVP award, Kupp sure will need to finish the regular season on a dominant note in order to give himself a chance at accomplishing a feat that the likes of Jerry Rice and Randy Moss were not able to achieve.
