During Super Bowl 56, the wife of Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Van Jefferson went into labor and even had to be stretchered off SoFi Stadium to deliver their baby. Jefferson only learned about it after their win, putting him in an absolute shock and delight for his double win on the day.

Now, a week since the big win, Jefferson has revealed the name he and his wife, Samaria, gave their baby. Of course, it had to have a Super Bowl nod, which is why the Rams' second-year wideout named the baby Champ Curtis Jefferson.

“I think it’s very fitting to name him Champ. We looked it up and Champ is like a warrior and my wife is a warrior like what she did throughout the whole week of Super Bowl, the week of Super Bowl being so crazy. He’s a champ, and she’s a warrior. So, Champ Curtis Jefferson” Jefferson said in The Adam Schefter Podcast, via SportsCenter.

Now that's a really cool name. And as Van Jefferson said, it's really fitting given the circumstances of the birth.

Jefferson really did get the best start to 2022 that anyone can wish for. Not only was the Rams rising star able to call himself a Super Bowl champ on the same day, but also a dad.
