The Baltimore Ravens are planning to make a low-key but very strong move at linebacker. It appears they're going to sign free agent Paul Worrilow sometime in the near future.

Paul Worrilow has put together some great seasons in the NFL and is still just 29. However, he didn't play last season in his only year with the Philadelphia Eagles due to a torn ACL.

That's probably why he was still available this close to the regular season. Worrilow's very solid but doesn't standout as a superstar. Therefore, teams might not have felt it was worth it to take a risk on someone coming off an injury like that.

This works out well for the Baltimore Ravens though. If he passes his physical, Worrilow immediately bolsters the depth of their linebackers significantly. He's someone that could start on a decent amount of teams if he's healthy and could make a lasting impression on the team.

It's probably a pretty safe bet to guess this would be a one-year deal. Worrilow will need to prove he's healthy and still at the top of his game before teams want to offer him anything more than that.

However, don't put it past him to do just that. If given the proper chance, Worrilow could be a big part of the Baltimore defense and be instrumental in helping them win games. That will turn manifest itself into new contracts for the linebacker. Longer contract worth more money.

For now though, this is a great pairing. The Baltimore Ravens could use help at linebacker, especially in the veteran leadership role. Their interior linebacker corps consists of a whole lot of rookies and one-or-two-year pros. There are a few more seasoned veterans in the mix, but not many and they aren't exactly long-tenured players. Worrilow could bring a lot of knowledge and be a great mentor to the younger players.

Meanwhile, Paul Worrilow needs to go somewhere that he can get a chance to show off his talents. Baltimore could definitely be that spot.

Both sides are getting what they need. Now all that's left is for the deal to be official and the linebacker will get a chance to prove he's still got it.
