A second consecutive absence from Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson started to raise plenty of speculation with training camp in full swing. Fortunately, it appears fans can now breathe a sigh of relief.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Jackson is dealing with a groin issue and is expected to return to practice on Monday:

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh also relented on going into detail about Jackson getting a day off to rest his arm.

“I'm not getting into all that. We're not getting into injuries,” via The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec.

Despite Harbaugh's hesitance, this appears to be an encouraging update for the Ravens. They already made headlines with the unceremonious departure of safety Earl Thomas. Having to overcome another setback on the offensive side of the ball would have hardly been ideal heading into the 2020 NFL season.

The NFL is in the midst of an unprecedented offseason due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Although they opted to cancel the preseason in an effort to reduce the risks involved, the longer ramp-up period in training camp should help pay huge dividends for keeping key players healthy for the regular season. The Ravens certainly have every reason to take a cautious approach with Lamar Jackson coming off an MVP year.

Harbaugh has even acknowledged the team's plans to rely more on Jackson's arm than his legs in order to reduce the wear and tear on his body. Given the circumstances of this season, health will be a deciding factor in crowning a champion now more than ever.
