The Baltimore Ravens are reportedly set to release or trade star safety Earl Thomas on Sunday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Thomas was sent home from practice after a fight with teammate Chuck Clark, leading to speculation that the Ravens could ultimately decide to move on from the star safety.

It appears that the team will do just with, with Schefter also noting that the Dallas Cowboys seem to be the most likely landing spot for Thomas if Baltimore releases him.

Schefter also added that trade partners will also have to take in Earl Thomas' contract in the event that a trade will push through. No deal has been made so far amidst ongoing talks.

The Dallas Cowboys have recently been aggressive in pursuing new pieces to reload their roster and boost their chances for the upcoming season. The team pursued the services of defensive tackle Gerald McCoy who recently went down with a season-ending quadriceps injury in training camp and was subsequently cut from the team.

The Cowboys also added 2016 Pro Bowl safety HaHa Clinton-Dix and two-time Pro Bowl nose tackle Dontari Poe. Returning defensive end Aldon Smith and former Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen found their way to Dallas as well.

The Cowboys also joined the Jamal Adams sweepstakes but lost out to the more decisive Seattle Seahawks. Earl Thomas will have to compete with fourth-year player Xavier Woods for the starting free safety position if a trade will push through.

Regardless of the Ravens' impending move, a change in scenery will ultimately be beneficial for both Thomas and the team as the relationship between the two sides has seemingly soured.

Any team who will be willing to take in the seven-time Pro Bowler will add a veteran presence with invaluable playing experience to their locker room.
