The Baltimore Ravens probably wish the Super Bowl was played in August. If that were the case, they'd probably have a lot more hardware in their display cases.

With their 26-15 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night, the Ravens collected their 16th straight preseason victory, which is the longest such streak in the NFL in at least 25 years.

Baltimore has not lost an exhibition game since 2015, but head coach John Harbaugh doesn't think it's that big of a deal outside of the fact that it demonstrates good player development:

“I don't know how significant it is,” said Harbaugh, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com. “I think it's significant in a sense that I think our coaches do a great job of coaching in training camp. We develop players really well.”

However, rookie quarterback Trace McSorley, who started Thursday evening's affair and completed 19 of his 28 passes for 203 yards and a couple of touchdowns, thinks it's a testament to everything Harbaugh talks about:

“I think it means a lot,” McSorley said. “At the end of the day, winning is what matters. Coach Harbaugh preaches winning all the time.”

As for whether or not the Ravens' preseason dominance has translated into regular-season success, Baltimore has gone 7-2 over its first three games of the season since 2016, marking the second-best record in the NFL during that span.

The Ravens are coming off of a 2018 campaign in which they won 10 games and captured the AFC North division title before losing to the Los Angeles Chargers in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.
