Ravens defense hit with another season-ending blow

Ravens Ravens injuries Ar'Darius Washington

The Baltimore Ravens have had arguably the worst case of injuries this season. Their unlucky streak continues with a new season-ending injury in their secondary. Defensive back Ar’Darius Washington is out for the season after breaking his foot on Wednesday. Jonas Shaffer of the Baltimore Sun tweeted the news per head coach John Harbaugh.

The Athletic Ravens reporter Jeff Zrebiec alluded to the possibility of a season-ending injury on Thursday. Zrebiec reported that Washington injured his foot during practice, and that it could be a “potentially significant foot injury.”

Multiple defensive players are stuck on the Ravens injury report. In fact, the team took a hit to their defense before the season even began. Cornerback Marcus Peters suffered a torn ACL in practice prior to their first game, resulting in a season-ending injury. Safety DeShon Elliot joins Peters on the Injured Reserve with a pectoral injury.

Defensive end Calais Campbell is questionable to play in Week 12 for the Ravens vs. Browns matchup due to a foot injury. He did not practice Thursday.

Even the Ravens offense has suffered with injuries this season. Star quarterback Lamar Jackson missed game time in Week 11 due to a non-COVID related illness. Running back J.K. Dobbins’ season ended before it even started after undergoing season-ending ACL surgery.

Despite numerous devastating injuries, the team has been able to adjust their gameplay and are currently the top team in the AFC North with a record of 7-3.
