It may be uncommon for teammates, much more players in the same positional group to scuffle but tempers do flare from time to time. The Baltimore Ravens practice was recently buzzed with the heated exchange between starting safeties Earl Thomas III and Chuck Clark.

A sideline argument between the two reportedly escalated with about 15 minutes left in the morning practice. Players had to stand in between the two as the scuffle continued to escalate. Cornerback Marlon Humphrey had to restrain Clark while defensive back Anthony Levine Sr. accompanied him back to the team facility.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh voiced his stance on the commotion between his players:

“We’ll find out the details of it,” Harbaugh said. “It just lasted longer than it needed to for me. You’re going to have these things in training camp. I think you’re going to have tempers flare, sure. It happens every training camp, especially right about now, probably. But I don’t like them when they extend like that and eat into our reps, and we’re going to have to find out why and make sure that doesn’t happen. We need to keep our eye on the prize, which is preparing for the [Cleveland] Browns.”

Thomas and Clark will need to patch things up quickly to avoid any lingering animosity between the two of them moving forward. A tough 2020 season still awaits the Ravens as they will aim to retain their AFC North title against reloaded division rivals. Head coach John Harbaugh and his men are also setting their sights on a bigger goal to reach the Super Bowl stage after a disappointing exit last season.
