Heading into Week 11 action against the Cincinnati Bengals, there is still much up in the air with Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco's status for Sunday's game.

Flacco has yet to take the practice field this week due to a bothersome hip injury. According to Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network, the Ravens have placed a doubtful injury designation on him against the Bengals that may open the door for either Robert Griffin III or rookie Lamar Jackson to step into the starting lineup.

The fact that Flacco hasn't been able to practice in any capacity should give a clear sign of what type of injury that he is currently dealing with. There is a chance that he could still play as he has proven to be quite durable throughout his career, but this is a situation that the team could lean toward the precautionary side to keep him out of action in order to avoid him suffering any setbacks or additional ailments. At the same time, the Ravens are likely trying to keep the public perception that he could still possibly play despite the condition he may truly be in.

If Flacco is out of the lineup, this presents a unique opportunity for either Griffin III or Jackson to get a spot start. It would mark the first time that Griffin III has played in a regular season game this season while Jackson has been used sporadically in more special packages that utilize his mobility. He played in all nine games this season where he has completed 7-of-12 passes for 87 yards with rushing for 139 yards on 28 carries and a touchdown.

This is a crucial game ahead that could be pivotal in impacting their playoff chances as they have been in a bit of a funk the last few weeks dropping their last three straight games and four out of the last five contests overall.
