Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco is officially inactive ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Flacco has not played since the Week 9 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to a right hip injury, which has allowed rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson to take over the starting role.

The veteran quarterback has thrown for 2,465 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, but it appears that Jackson will get the opportunity to showcase his skills once again with Flacco's injury still present.

From Kevin Patra of NFL.com:

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Flacco has been dealing with “a small tear in his hip” that kept him sidelined. While the QB is approaching full health, he's not close enough to return this week.

The Ravens are likely going to need a big offensive performance to keep up with the high-powered Chiefs' offense, and the team hopes to see more consistency from Jackson in the passing game.

Baltimore has gone 3-0 in Jackson's starts, but he has yet to throw for over 178 yards through the air. Of course, his rushing ability will yet again give him the chance to carve up the Kansas City defense.

However, Jackson may be forced to throw a bit more if the Chiefs jump out to a big lead behind the incredible scoring prowess of Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the offensive playmakers.

After the showdown in Kansas City, the Ravens will return home for a Week 15 clash against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in what could be another crucial game in terms of trying to secure a playoff spot.
