Baltimore Ravens fans who caught their team giving the Miami Dolphins were probably worried after starting cornerback Jimmy Smith went down with a right knee injury in the first quarter.

With Smith not returning to finish the game, it was easy for fans to think that he suffered a season-ending injury. However, team coach John Harbaugh was quick to dismiss those allegations.

He talked with the media during the post-game press conference and addressed questions about the game and his corner. He immediately gave an update about Smith's status, and the news was positive.

This was what Harbaugh said, per Ravens Wire's Matthew Stevens:

“It's not a season-ending injury as far as we know right now. It does not look like that at all. I'm sure we'll get an MRI tomorrow. We'll just see if it's days if it's days or weeks or what. We'll know tomorrow.”

Smith limped off the field after and returned to the sideline wearing street clothing. It was a devastating sight for fans that caught the game, but they are likely relieved that the injury doesn't seem to be as serious as it seemed.

Smith has been a key corner for the Ravens ever since they drafted him 27th overall in 2011. In his eight years with the team, he made 13 interceptions for 165 yards, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and 258 tackles.

Fans will be hoping that he will only be sidelined for a short while since he is an important cog of the Ravens secondary.
