Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson continues to add to his resume.

As the Ravens take on the New Orleans Saints on Monday night football, Jackson has rushed for 39 yards. This included a 16-yard rushing attempt in the second quarter. This run put the Ravens QB1 into elite territory.

Via NFL Research:

“With his 16-yard run in the 2nd quarter, Lamar Jackson reached 4,253 career rushing yards, surpassing Steve Young for 5th-most by a QB in NFL history.”

Lamar Jackson has moved into fifth place in quarterback rushing yards. He has passed Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young.

Young finished his career with 4,239 rushing yards. He did this over 169 regular season games.

Jackson has achieved this feat just a little faster than Young. It took him just 67 regular season games to move into fifth place on the all-time list. He now finds himself behind Michael Vick, Cam Newton, Randall Cunningham, and Russell Wilson. But with how he has played throughout his career, he could eventually surpass all of these players.

The 2022 campaign has been another MVP-caliber year for Jackson. Outside of his dominant performance on the ground, he has also once again torn secondaries apart through the air. Prior to the Week 9 matchup, he has thrown for 1,635 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, and six interceptions.

Now in the third quarter, Jackson and the Ravens lead the Saints 17-3. Jackson has thrown for 133 yards and one touchdown. On the ground, he has added 52 rushing yards on eight carries.

With a win, Jackson and the Ravens will move to 6-3. They already find themselves atop the AFC North.
