Lamar Jackson has taken over as the starting quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens with Joe Flacco missing time due to injury. He has put on a show in his first two starts, but there are some concerns about his health this week against the Atlanta Falcons in his third straight start.
According to a report from Adam Schefter of ESPN, Jackson has been placed in concussion protocol.
Due to Jackson and Flacco both being out of the game, the Ravens have turned to Robert Griffin III as their quarterback. Things are getting interesting for Baltimore in a game that they need to win to keep pace in the AFC playoff race.
Jackson was having a big game against the Falcons prior to his injury. He has completed 11 of his 18 pass attempts for 117 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions. In addition to his passing numbers, Jackson has rushed for 35 yards and a touchdown.
Thankfully, even if Jackson is forced out of the game, Griffin has received quite a bit of work over the past few weeks in practice. He may not have lived up to the hype that surrounded him throughout his entire career, but Griffin is a capable quarterback that can help lead the Ravens forward.
Ideally, Jackson will be cleared to return to the game, but for now, the Ravens are going to be without their top two quarterbacks.
Reports have come out that Flacco may be able to return in Week 14. If Jackson misses more time with a concussion, the Ravens should be just fine at the quarterback position if they can pull out a win today.
