The Boston Red Sox will open a three-game series with the Baltimore Orioles on Monday at Camden Yards at Oriole Park. We're here to share our MLB odds series, make a Red Sox-Orioles prediction, and pick while showing you how to watch.

The Red Sox are struggling to stay afloat in the American League East. Unfortunately, a rough series with the Milwaukee Brewers did not help. Boston looks to bounce back as they visit the Orioles for a Memorial Day matinee.

The Orioles are hot and attempting to keep pace with the New York Yankees in the division race. Substantially, playing the Chicago White Sox this past weekend helped. The O's look to continue their recent dominance over the Red Sox.

The Orioles swept the Red Sox in three games at Fenway Park last month. Now, the series shifts to Baltimore. The Sox and Orioles have split the past 10 games at Camden Yards. Now, both look to get off to a good start and will need their pitchers to do the job.

Cooper Criswell starts for the Red Sox. He is 2-1 with a 2.86 ERA. Recently, he went 5 1/3 innings while allowing two earned runs on six hits while striking out six and walking one in a no-decision against the Tampa Bay Rays. Criswell has not reached six innings yet.

Cole Irvin starts for the Orioles. He is 4-2 with a 3.15 ERA. Unfortunately, he went 5 2/3 innings while allowing five runs, three earned, on six hits in a loss in relief. Irvin went 5 2/3 innings in his last start, a win over the Arizona Diamondbacks a few weeks ago, where he allowed just two earned runs on five hits. Additionally, he faced the Red Sox last month, going five innings while allowing five earned runs on seven hits in a no-decision. Irvin is 0-1 with a 5.16 ERA over six games against the Sox.

Why The Red Sox Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Red Sox will look to hit the ball. They also need to find ways to score early and then maintain the lead. Significantly, they had a lead in all three games against the Orioles. But they could not hold on, with their bullpen blowing a five-run lead in the seventh inning in the second game and a one-run lead in the finale. But they still have the hitters needed to give them a boost.

Jarren Duran leads the lineup nightly for the Red Sox. Curiously, he has done well against Irvin, going 2 for 3 against him in his career. Rafael Devers is a superstar and likely a future Hall of Famer. Substantially, he has hit .287 with 18 home runs, 66 RBIs, and 65 runs over 104 games against the Orioles in his career. Devers is also batting .300 against Irvin.

Tyler O'Neil is another guy in the lineup who can do damage. Overall, he is 1 for 3 with an RBI, a walk, and a strikeout against Irvin. Wilyer Abreu needs to contribute. Currently, he is 0 for 2 against Irvin.

The Red Sox will cover the spread if their hitters can club together some hits and drive runners home. Then, they need their pitching staff to get the job done.

Why The Orioles Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Orioles continue to bash the baseball, and their lineup is one of the best in baseball. Now, they hope to continue driving runners home against the Sox.

Gunnar Henderson is an effective leadoff hitter. Yet, he is batting .247 with four home runs, 11 RBIs, and 12 runs over 21 games against the Orioles. Ryan Mountcastle looks to keep clubbing some hits together. Currently, he is hitting .275 with 10 home runs, 30 RBIs, and 31 runs against the Sox in his career.

Adley Rutschman did not do well last month, hitting .200 (3 for 12) with an RBI and a run over three games against the Red Sox. Also, he is hitting .241 with four home runs, 14 RBIs, and 15 runs over 30 games against Boston. Anthony Santander looks to get some offense going. Ultimately, he is batting .260 with 14 home runs, 49 RBIs, and 37 runs over 65 career games against the Sox.

The Orioles will cover the spread if they can batter the baseball. Then, they need Irvin to pitch well.

Final Red Sox-Orioles Prediction & Pick

The Orioles covered the spread in all three games at Fenway Park. Amazingly, they managed to find a way to get runners across the plate in all three games. The Red Sox might have a tough time on the road to start the series, especially if they fall behind early. Expect the top hitters in Baltimore's lineup to find ways to batter the baseball out of the park a few times. Consequently, it will be enough for the Orioles to cover the spread at home.
