Chase Young is expected to be a stalwart for the Washington football team for years to come and he's officially under contract now. While he prepares for his first year in the NFL, Young has signed his rookie deal with Washington.

With the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Washington selected Young to bolster their already formidable defensive front. The former Buckeye took to Twitter to announce his deal with Washington on Thursday morning.

As a rookie, Young will be joining forces with fellow first-round picks Montez Sweat, Da'Ron Payne, Jonathan Allen, and Ryan Kerrigan. Not to mention, Matt Ioannidis figures to have a prominent role on the defense despite the talent ahead of him on the depth chart.

Coming out of Ohio State, Young is expected to wreak havoc immediately in the NFL. Throughout his three collegiate seasons, Young accumulated 30.5 sacks, 40.5 tackles for loss, and nine forced fumbles. Furthermore, 16.5 sacks, 21 tackles for loss, and seven forced fumbles came in his final season in the Big Ten.

Even though he has yet to log a snap in the NFL, Young has already received praise from head coach Ron Rivera. When asked about Young, Rivera stated that Young could be the next Darrell Green for the Washington football team. Green played 20 seasons with Washington, retiring at the age of 42 years old in 2002.

Seeing that he was a first-round selection, Chase Young likely signed a four-year deal that will include a fifth-year option. With that being said, Washington is hoping to have Young as a cornerstone of their defense for his entire career.
