It's no secret that the insanely popular Apex Legends takes place within the same universe as the Titanfall franchise. Eagle-eyed players can instantly recognize some of the weaponry from Apex as reworked and modified guns from Titanfall. The one glaring distinction between the two franchises is the stunning lack of massive titan mechs in the battle royale.
Naturally, can have endless fun if granted the ability to wreck face on King's Canyon or Olympus with a giant mech. One game can't be expected to contain multiple references despite coming from the same developers right? Well, Respawn Entertainment heads have confirmed something fun in store for Titanfall fans in Apex Legends' 9th season.
TITANFALLING INTO APEX LEGENDS
In a report by Dexerto, several Apex Legends developers spoke at length about the next competitive season of the battle royale in an online panel. Chad Grenier, Apex Legends' game director promised that next season includes Titanfall content. The exact details remain a mystery at this point in time but Titanfall fans now have something to look forward to.
“Next season, Season 9, you’re actually going to see a ton of Titanfall coming back into the game, in one way or another. I’ve told some people before, if you’re a Titanfall fan, hang on for Season 9 because there’s gonna be some really cool stuff there.”
Apex suffers from massive server-side problems but it also features some of the best modern-day shooting mechanics in any video game today. Hopefully, Respawn adds stability to their update list for Season 9.
Recently, Respawn released Apex Legends on the Nintendo Switch. Currently, players run through the game's eighth season. This means there are only a little under 30 days left before the next competitive season. Titans may be on the way but there are still many things to enjoy in the current season.
Players can try Apex on Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and on the Nintendo Switch.
