Houston Rockets forward Carmelo Anthony has yet to be cut by the team despite their breakup becoming public on Thursday before a rousing win over the Golden State Warriors. The defending champions have however no reported interest in adding Melo to their fold, despite still having Patrick McCaw's open roster spot to fill, according to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated.

Anthony's former USA Basketball teammate Draymond Green knows he won't fit with the Warriors, but there should be a fit for him somewhere in the other 27 teams (Oklahoma City is not eligible to sign him this season, as they traded him away in the offseason).

“Of course, he can still play in this league,” the Warriors star said. “There is no doubt in my mind.

“He’s still Melo.”

Anthony has been a victim of the new era, as the game has evolved right before his eyes, yet his elite scoring skills remain an archaic talent, master of bully-ball post-ups and a mid-range artist like very few left in the game.

Most teams have adopted the 3-point shot as one of their main weapons, and the Rockets were that philosophy on steroids, attempting the most shots from distance than any other team in the league.

While Houston was a poor fit, teams like the Portland Trail Blazers and the New Orleans Pelicans have shown some level of interest, but it's likely Melo will have to make some concessions about his role before signing with either of them. Either way, he's apparently not joining the Warriors.
