It's a good day to be an Ohio State Buckeyes fan. The program managed to dig itself out of an early deficit in the Rose Bowl against the Utah Utes to pull off an unforgettable 48-45 win Saturday night. What made the win even more memorable was the record-setting performance by sophomore wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, highlighted by an insane touchdown grab late in the game off a pass from quarterback C.J. Stroud.

Smith-Njigba's touchdown reception gave the Buckeyes a six-point lead in the Rose Bowl with under five minutes in regulation — and also a huge reaction from former Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III.

It was truly Smith-Njigba's day. When Griffin fired off that tweet, Smith-Njigba wasn't done adding to his incredible Rose Bowl performance. He ended up with 347 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 15 receptions. He was so good, he set a new FBS record for the most receiving yards in a bowl game, per ESPN Stats & Info.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba finished the Rose Bowl with 347 Rec yds, a new bowl record and the 5th most in a game in FBS history. The Buckeyes prevail in a thriller, 48-45 over No. 11 Utah.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba really saved the day for the Buckeyes, who entered the Rose Bowl without Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave, two of Ohio State's top three receivers. Fortunately for the Buckeyes, Smith-Njigba was feeling dangerous.
