The New Orleans Saints rallied from a 17-point deficit at home on Monday night to defeat the Los Angeles Chargers 30-27.

Despite the exciting comeback by the Saints, the defense still left a lot to be desired as they surrendered four touchdown passes to rookie quarterback Justin Herbert. Herbert's four-touchdown night was the first-ever for a rookie on Monday Night Football.

On the daily Locked On Saints podcast, host Ross Jackson pointed out the issues of the defense and put it on members of the coaching staff, including Secondary Coach Aaron Glenn and Defensive Coordinator Dennis Allen. This has been an issue for the New Orleans Saints defense for the past decade and Jackson discusses why enough is enough.

Jackson: “When it comes to down this Saints defense, it feels like we’re watching the same defense that we’ve seen for nearly 10 years at this point making the exact same mistakes and it's frustrating and disheartening and its disenchanting as well because you want to see the secondary, in particular, perform to the level of talent that they have back there. At some point, you have to take a look at the coaching. At some point, you have to point your finger at Aaron Glenn and Dennis Allen and say, “What’s going on guys? What are you doing?” This is not something that is exclusive to one particular group of players or one particular player. This is something that we have seen now year in and year out with different personnel and different players all having the same lapses in judgment, lapses in coverage, lapses in concentration, and lapses in eye discipline. The coaches can go out there and talk about what it is that needs to get fixed all they want if they don’t fix it, then it's their problem and it needs to be handled.”
