New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has been fined $5,000 for rocking holiday-themed cleats last week against the Minnesota Vikings.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported the league fined Kamara for wearing the wrong shoe colorway during his history-making performance.

Kamara acknowledged after the game he was probably going to be hit with a financial penalty, adding he would just match the fine and donate the money to charity:

“Oh, they’re probably going to fine me,” Kamara said, via John Sigler of USA TODAY. “If they fine me, whatever it is, I’ll just match it and donate it to charity. You know that the Grinch always tries to steal Christmas.”

The four-time Pro Bowler could probably care less about the fine following one of the most memorable performances of the year.

Kamara torched the Vikings for 155 yards and six rushing touchdowns, tying Ernie Nevers' record for most rushing touchdowns in a single game. He also had a clear awareness of the record throughout the contest.

The 25-year-old helped the Saints wrap up the division title, and is a sleeper candidate for league MVP.

Kamara has already racked up close to 1,700 yards from scrimmage, and he leads the NFL in both rushing touchdowns (16) and total touchdowns (21). He has been the Saints' most important offensive player all year long, shouldering the load when guys like Michael Thomas and Drew Brees were beset with injuries.

The NFL might be messing with Kamara's holiday spirit, but the league cannot do anything to cast doubt on him being one of the best players in football.
