New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen has issued an apology to Atlanta Falcons head coach Arthur Smith after a late touchdown was scored making the score 48-17. Running back Jamaal Williams scored the aforementioned touchdown and the explanation was that his teammates wanted him to get his first of the season after scoring 17 last year.

After the game, the television broadcast caught the routine pleasantries where both head coaches meet at the middle of the field and shake hands. However, this time it was met with anger as Smith was seen yelling obscenities at Allen for the touchdown at the end of the game when the score was out of hand.

Specifically, Smith would say “That's f***ing bulls**t!” to Allen, to which the opposing head coach responded with “I understand that.”Allen started his press conference by apologizing to Smith according to Mike Triplett of the Saints official website.

“I’m gonna start by apologizing to Arthur Smith and the Falcons,” Allen said. “That’s not who we are, not what we’re about.”

There was three teams all in the running for the NFC South, but Tampa Bay has won their third straight division title. New Orleans finishes with a 9-8 record which to some fans can be seen as a disappointing season with the talent they have on both sides of the ball.

However, the Saints still have a chance to make a wild cart spot for the playoffs, but they need a couple of games to go their way. They need the Green Bay Packers to lose to the Chicago Bears and the Seattle Seahawks to fall to the Arizona Cardinals.
