The Atlanta Falcons lost to the New Orleans Saints in Week 18, which may cost Falcons head coach Arthur Smith his job. With that type of pressure at play, Smith snapped on Saints head coach Dennis Allen after the final whistle blew, following a garbage-time Saints touchdown to make the score 48-17.

With a minute to go in the game, up by more than three scores, Saints running back Jamaal Williams scored a touchdown to move hs team to 48 with the extra point.

As the teams came together to shake hands, Arthur Smith was hot, and microphones picked him up saying, “That's f***ing bulls**t!” to Dennis Allen, to which the Saints coach empathetically responded, “I understand that.”

After the incident, Smith told reporters, “It got out of hand. You can do whatever you want. I just gave them my opinion about it,” per The Athletic's Josh Kendall.

The latest rumors coming out of Atlanta are that Smith is in danger of losing his job, especially if he lost in Week 18 to the Saints. Now, with this last-game blowout and subsequent blow-up, owner Arthur Blank has a big decision to make. Smith has been with the Falcons for three seasons now and has identical 7-10 records in each one.

With the Tampa Bay Buccaneers winning, the outcome of this game didn't matter anyway, but it does mark the sixth consecutive season that the Falcons will miss out on the playoffs. The last time the team went to the postseason was back in 2017 with head coach Dan Quinn and quarterback Matt Ryan.
