The New Orleans Saints have decided not to match the Baltimore Ravens’ offer sheet for restricted free agent wide receiver Willie Snead, which will now make him an official member of the Ravens.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter:

Saints are not going to match Willie Snead’s offer sheet with Baltimore, per source. Snead will be a Raven.

Snead signed the Ravens’ offer sheet of two years worth up to $10.4 million last week. But after they signed Cameron Meredith away from the Chicago Bears with their own offer sheet, it was always unlikely that they would decide to match the Ravens’ offer for Snead.

Baltimore, who had also expressed strong interest in free-agent wide receiver Dez Bryant, is most likely now out of the running for the former Pro Bowl receiver with Snead’s arrival.

Snead, 25, is coming off a disappointing year with New Orleans in 2017. He played just 11 games after being suspended three games after violating the league's personal conduct policy. He didn’t get many opportunities upon his return to the Saints as he finished with just eight catches for 92 yards and no touchdowns.

This marks a precipitous fall from his excellent production during his first two full seasons with the Saints, where he totaled 141 catches for 1,879 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.

Snead will look to recapture that old form in Baltimore as he joins a revamped Ravens receiving corps which also added veterans Michael Crabtree and John Brown in free agency earlier this offseason. Snead will compete for the third wide receiver spot behind those two with Chris Moore and former first-round pick Breshad Perriman.
