New Orlean Saints wide receiver Chris Olave has been reportedly arrested Monday night due to reckless driving of a motor vehicle, according to Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.football.

“Chris Olave was arrested for reckless operation of a motor vehicle tonight. He was traveling 35 mph over the posted speed limit. He did not resist and was cooperative with law enforcement.”

Olave is expected to be released from Kenner City Jail after processing, adds Underhill.

This is not a good look for the young wideout. Moreover, this could potentially result in missed games for Chris Olave, who is currently leading the Saints so far in the 2023 NFL regular season with 471 receiving yards to go with a touchdown on 39 receptions and 68 targets.

In his most recent appearance on the field, the former Ohio State Buckeyes star recorded 57 receiving yards on seven catches and 15 targets in a 31-24 home loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 7. It was a letdown showing from Olave, who got called out by head coach Dennis Allen following the game.

Olave's struggles in that game, however, pales in comparison to the gravity of his current legal situation.  That being said, there is still a likelihood that he will be able to suit up and play in Week 8 when the Saints take on the Indianapolis Colts on the road.

In the event that he misses a game, the Saints will have to put more load on the shoulders of the likes of running back Alvin Kamara and wide receivers Michael Thomas and Rashid Shaheed.
