Sasha Banks is in danger of missing the Royal Rumble due to an injury that will see her shelved for 6-8 weeks.

A foot injury that came out of nowhere sent the 7-time Women's Champion packing. Sasha Banks suffered the injury during a WWE Live Event in Fayetteville, North Carolina on Sunday, January 2. She appears to have sustained the injury during her match with the WWE Smackdown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair. An over-the-knee backbreaker ended with her landing her leg awkwardly, which led to her being helped to the back by WWE officials after the match. WWE reports that an MRI scan has revealed a bruised calcaneus bone, which will take her out of action for the next 6-8 weeks.

With the Royal Rumble arriving in less than three weeks, this almost rules out The Boss from in-ring competition during the pay-per-view event. Banks didn't appear as well during the Day 1 pay-per-view, and her injury ruled her out of Friday Night SmackDown. Her absence won't ruin much of the current storylines, as she hasn't featured in any of them in recent weeks. This means that she can focus on recovering, with not a lot of pressure for her to make a hasty comeback. Still, we'd still love to see her miraculously recover and find her way in the Women's Royal Rumble, where she hasn't scored a victory yet. A surprise #30 entry and winning it all would be a fantastic result for her, and a booking that will not stress her injured foot so much.
