Adrian Peterson is trending in the right direction ahead of the Seattle Seahawks Week 15 matchup with the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. The veteran running back, who missed last weekend's game with back soreness, took a significant step in practice on Wednesday. Via Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune:
Peterson made his debut for the Seahawks in Week 13 as they managed to beat the San Francisco 49ers. He had 11 carries for a total of 16 yards. While these aren't great numbers, the 36-year-old did collect a touchdown and made history in the process, tying Jim Brown for 10th all-time in TD's.
Running the ball has been a major problem for Seattle all season, sitting 22nd in the league in rushing yards. It also doesn't help their first-string running back in Chris Carson is out fr the rest of the year with a neck injury.
The Seahawks went out and signed Peterson to their practice squad after he played just one game for the Tennessee Titans, who were hoping he could give them stability with Derrick Henry sidelined. Seattle was in desperate need of more depth in their backfield as well after Carson's injury.
While it's not guaranteed Peterson will play on Sunday, Pete Carroll does sound hopeful as the Seahawks look to pull off an upset.
