The Seattle Seahawks finished the last of their OTAs on Thursday, ahead of their minicamp scheduled for mid-June. One player not seen at OTAs is Chris Carson. The running back has been on the injured reserve since injuring his neck early on in the 2021-2022 season.

Pete Carroll discussed Carson's status for the upcoming season at OTAs on Thursday. Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times tweeted Carroll's less-than-encouraging update that afternoon.

Carroll said that doctors will reassess Carson “about two weeks from now” to “see where he is.”

There is no clear timeline for Carson's return to the Seahawks active roster. However, as noted by Condotta, the running back is not available for Seahawks' minicamp, which runs June 14-16.

“We'll see what happens,” Carroll said. He emphasized the work that Carson has put in, and how much he wants to be ready for the start of the season. “He's worked really hard, he really wants to come back…but I can't tell you for certain at this point.”

Despite Carson's determination to get back on the field, the decision is up to his doctors. He suffered the neck injury in Week 4 and was placed on injured reserve shortly after. He then had season-ending surgery to repair the injury, and has been recovering ever since. Carson recorded 232 rushing yards and three touchdowns in the four games he played last season.
