Seattle Seahawks defensive end Darrell Taylor suffered a rather scary injury in the closing minutes of their Week 6 contest with the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, head coach Pete Carroll eased the fans' worries with a positive update.

To recall, the 24-year-old DE had to be stretchered off the field following a collision with teammate Al Woods. He was trying to tackle Steelers running back Najee Harris, only to hit his teammate. He quickly went down and was unable to move as his teammates gathered around him.

Of course the scene caused fans to worry. After all, being stretchered off usually suggests the injury is serious. The Seahawks players' reactions also showed visible concern for their teammate.

However, according to Carroll, Taylor would have been capable of getting back on his own had the medical staff not stopped him in a precautionary measure. Apparently, the second-year man was “so mad” he had to be stretchered.

“He wanted to get up,” Carroll said, per Pro Football Talk. “They just wouldn’t let him do it because they had to do all the secure methods to take care of him and all that. Man, he didn’t want any part of that.”

As for Darrell Taylor's injury, Pete Carroll noted that initial CT scans were “clear,” which is a positive sign for the former second-round pick. However, the Seahawks coach noted that they will have to conduct more tests to fully assess his condition.

“That’s a really good preliminary report for you. There’s more tests to be done and stuff like that. So we’re thrilled about that news,” Carroll added.

While the Seahawks lost to the Steelers in OT, 23-20, it's certainly the least of their worries now as the injury bug continues to bite them. Hopefully, Taylor won't need to miss time and recover quickly from his latest setback.
