The Seattle Seahawks have continued to find success with veteran quarterback Russell Wilson under center. With the Seahawks even winning a Super Bowl title under his direction, one would think that Wilson will finish his NFL career as a member of the NFC West franchise.
However, with the NFL rumor mill swirling in full swing these days, Wilson was recently asked about the possibility of being traded to the New York Giants en route to eventually replacing two-time Super Bowl winning quarterback Eli Manning.
“I'm not sure the Seahawks are going to let me get away,” Wilson said on Friday during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “I love Seattle. Seattle is a special place, been able to win a Super Bowl there, go to two Super Bowls, multiple playoff games and everything else.”
Leading to such a rumor, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport recently reported that Wilson could potentially replace Manning in East Rutherford.
“Let's assume it's even a possibility,” tweeted Rapoport. “If this was going to happen, it would take multiple, multiple, first-round picks for the Giants to pry Russell Wilson away from the Seahawks. And by the way, the Giants actually have those. You'd think it would probably take both this year, and at least next year's one.”
The Giants are struggling and the Seahawks continue to serve as a threat in the NFC, which makes it hard to believe that Wilson will be departing Seattle any time soon. However, stranger things have certainly happened in the NFL…
