It's been quite the journey for Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks. Speculations of a trade have been ongoing since the reports of Wilson's unhappiness in Seattle came to light. Not long ago, ESPN claimed that Wilson and coach Pete Carroll were heading towards a divorce. Even so, these rumors continue to be denied by the franchise and the players.

According to John Boyle, Wilson seems adamant about staying in Seattle. He has mentioned before he plans to win more Super Bowls before retiring and he's made it clear he wants to win with the Seahawks.

The Seahawks have plenty of holes on the roster right now and trading Wilson could be beneficial, especially since the front office has a limited amount of draft picks after trading for Jamal Adams. Regardless, the Seahawks bosses have continuously stated and believe they're close to being a legitimate Super Bowl contender.

For that reason, we could see Wilson remain with the Seahawks for at least one more year. We'll see how it all plays out, as Seattle needs to make numerous changes to the roster to become competitive once again. Based on the current cap space and draft capital, it's hard to imagine the team does much of anything this offseason.

Although Russell Wilson is claiming he wants to remain with the Seahawks, things could change at the drop of a hat. For now, he remains on the roster and plans to suit up in Week 18 against the Arizona Cardinals to close out the season.
