The Seattle Seahawks lost star safety Jamal Adams to injury in their Week 13 game against the San Francisco 49ers, raising concerns about his status moving forward.

Adams reportedly suffered a shoulder injury at the half, forcing him out for the rest of the contest with the 49ers. He returned to the Seahawks' sideline after the break, but he was already in street clothes.

Ryan Neal replaced Adams in the lineup. The 26-year-old safety finished with four tackles in the contest as Seattle trailed by two points at the half, 23-21.

The severity of the injury is still unknown, though the fact that Jamal Adams was able to get back to the sideline is a positive sign that the issue is not that serious.

While he was ruled out for the duration of the game, it is possible that the Seahawks are just being cautious in hopes to avoid a more serious injury.

Adams is undoubtedly one of the most important players on the Seahawks roster. The fact that the team gave him a four-year, $70 million extension in the 2021 offseason is proof of that. With that said, it will be a huge blow to Seattle if they lose him to injury–especially at this point of the season when Seattle is hoping to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Hopefully, Adams won't have to miss time because of the shoulder injury.
