The Los Angeles Rams barely beat the Denver Broncos in Week 6 to remain undefeated, and Sean McVay claims his play calling deserves plenty of blame. The Rams won 23-20, despite the poor conditions they're not so used to in California. Todd Gurley bailed the team out with his excellent performance on the ground, but McVay says he's got to do better as the team's decision maker.

“I thought I put us in some horrible spots throughout the game [by] really getting impatient, forcing things that weren’t there,” McVay told The Athletic. “The players bailed me out finding a way to get a win. … The cold didn’t really dictate the play selection. If anything, the cold might have just affected my brain with some of the decisions I made.”

The Rams are one of the best multidimensional teams in the NFL. Not only do they have two of the league's most productive receivers in Cooper Kupp and Brandin Cooks, but they also have a Pro Bowl running back in Gurley. Gurley leads the NFL with 623 rushing yards. His 208-yard game against the Broncos helped him create some separation between himself and the Dallas Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliot.

Sean McVay is only in his second season as an NFL head coach, so he's got plenty more to learn. However, he's 16-6 with the Rams so far in his career. Clearly, he's done some great things to help turn the franchise around. Week 7's game against the San Francisco 49ers should be a routine win where they can refine some of last Week's mistakes.
