Despite her rising fame and a packed schedule as an actress, Selena Gomez likely won't abandon music. However, she might step back from one aspect of her music career: touring, Deadline reports.

The “Only Murders in the Building” star has found time to record a new album, set for release later this year. This will be her first album since “Rare” in 2020. However, fans shouldn't expect a supporting tour. Gomez didn't tour “Rare” either, with her last tour being for 2016's “Revival.”

Revealing the Truth

In a recent interview with Time, Selena Gomez explained the complexities and challenges of touring, indicating she was “50/50” on ever hitting the road again. It's not just the travel, physical exhaustion, and time commitment that make touring daunting.

Gomez expressed her love for performing, saying, “Nothing makes me happier than 90 minutes of being with my fans and just celebrating together.” The problem is that those 90 minutes are only a small part of the overall touring experience. “It is very emotionally draining for me,” she said. “And then you realize you’re just surrounded by a bunch of people that you’re paying.”

Focusing on her mental health, Gomez has become intentional about her surroundings. “I love having levelheaded people around that couldn’t give two f–ks about what I do,” she said.

Gomez also admitted feeling out of place at times and not always comfortable around women. “It's a cliché, but girls are mean,” she shared. “It's a very weird competition, being in the cool girls area — and then I'm just kind of like, there. I don't know where I'm meant to belong.”

Gomez's Thriving Career

Despite her apprehensions about touring, Gomez continues to thrive in her career. She recently attended the Cannes Film Festival to promote her new film “Emilia Pérez,” for which she won a Best Actress award. She's also filming the next season of her hit TV series “Only Murders in the Building,” starring alongside Steve Martin and Martin Short.

The film “Emilia Pérez” received a long standing ovation at Cannes and a jury prize, while Gomez landed a shared best actress honor with her co-stars Karla Sofía Gascón, Adriana Paz, and Zoe Saldaña.

Gomez remains busy with her passions, balancing her acting and music careers. Her dedication to her work and her fans is evident, despite the challenges she faces.

In her personal life, Gomez is enjoying her relationship with fellow musician Benny Blanco. She shared that their bond is strong enough to endure even her passionate fanbase. “I know what people can do to people I love,” she told Time. “My own fans, who I adore and feel like have shaped who I am, will say the most hurtful things to me about how I live my life. But he has the strength in him that none of that noise fazes him.”

As Gomez continues to navigate her multifaceted career and personal life, she remains a resilient and inspiring figure. While touring may be off the table for now, her dedication to creating and sharing her art remains unwavering.
