When referee Danny Crawford announced his retirement, he received a plethora of congratulatory messages from current and former players, as well from NBA officials, for his stellar 31-year career. However, he received a different kind of reaction from Shaquille O'Neal, who replied to a tweet posted by Slam Magazine about the development in the veteran official's career.

Known for his comedic and quirky ways on and off the court, the Hall of Fame center made a one-word reply that only he can pull off.

Shaquille O'Neal was not trying to diss Crawford, to be clear, for the hard work he has done over the past three decades, but it can be considered as his playful response after Crawford admitted that he was the hardest big man to officiate. Crawford also added, via K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune, that there were some who just flopped on purpose as they were clueless on how to stop O'Neal.

“We were always two years behind catching up with all the stuff Shaq would do on the court. Shaq was the most difficult big man to referee in the history of the game. He was so massive, so physical, so dominant. Players would just flop because they didn’t know any other way to guard the guy. We had to concern ourselves with whether they’re flopping or if Shaq was just knocking the hell out of the guy.”

Danny Crawford owns the longest record since 1975, of having officiated in the NBA Finals for 23 straight years, including his final game last June 5th, when the Golden State Warriors won Game 2 of the finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He finishes his career after officiating more than 2,300 league games, and was part of the CBA and NCAA before moving to the NBA.
