Ben Simmons has been an enigma for the Philadelphia 76ers this offseason. The trade rumors around the Sixers star have been virtually endless, and that has created an obvious strain on his relationship with the team.
That's why Simmons had reportedly cut contact with the Sixers' brass as the speculation continued to heat up in recent weeks. Even superstar teammate Joel Embiid was reportedly getting left on voicemail when trying to reach his co-star.

But now after public sightings with girlfriend Maya Jama, Ben Simmons appears to be back to work. Clips have emerged of the Sixers star in the gym working on his game, and he's back to posting on his Instagram account. Simmons' latest post had a rather cryptic caption.
“The man who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.”

Perhaps he's referring to working on his shooting stroke? After all, Ben Simmons' reluctance to fire away has been at the crux of Sixers fans' frustrations with him. If that is the case, offseason shooting drills have fooled observers in the past. Or could this be an indication of something deeper, maybe related to his rumored departure?
Whatever the case may be, most signs still point to Ben Simmons no longer being in a Sixers uniform next season. We'll have to wait and see how things shake out as we draw closer to training camp.
